Amid sobs and tears Musavir laid to rest

Despite restrictions , thousands of people on Saturday participated in funeral prayers of Slain militants killed by forces in an encounter at Kangan in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday evening.

As per locals,strict restrictions were imposed in district Pulwama to thaw protests.

They said that All the entry and exist points were sealed and barbed wired were put in place at many areas to stop people from attending the militant funeral.

Sources said that defying  heavy restrictions, early morning thousands of people from Awantipora, Tral, Pampore and other areas of southern kashmir converged at Pulwama and staged pro-freedom and anti-India demonstrations. Chanting slogans, the people were protesting against the killing of Hizbul Mujahedeen militant Musavir Ah

They added that at around 10:30 am, a funeral prayer was held at the ground government boys higher secondary school Pulwama in which thousand of people participated

Later his body was taken in a procession from their Dalipora area to the nearby Martyrs graveyard at Main town Pulwama. 

The mourners including men women and children carrying the body of the Slain militant were shouting vociferous pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, they said.

Eyewitnesses said that militants offered gun salute to his Slain colleague near higher secondary ground.

Sources further said that Amid mid sobs,tears, Pro militant and pro Islamic sloganeering,  Musavir was laid to rest at Martyrs graveyard Pulwama 

Later, clashes broke out between youth and the forces at various places of town.

Sources said that Forces fired teargas shells and pellets when angry youth hurled stones at them. In the clashes which continued for many hours, at least six people, received injuries, among them one was shifted to srinagar.

Pertinently Musavir Ahmad a b tech pass out was killed in a brief encounter in orchards of Kangan area yesterday evening after which situation continued to remain tense in Pulwama and it’s adjacent areas.

Meanwhile complete shutdown was observed in Pulwama  to mourn militant killing.

All business establishment and Schools remained closed in the area.

Pertinently shopian and Pulwama continues to remain shut from last last seven days to mourn the killing of Militants and civilians who were killed in encounters in shopian district on Sundaylast.

Notably kulgam returns to normal after remaining shut for six consecutive days.

Meanwhile Internet services continue to remain  suspended in Shopian and Pulwama from last seven days however 2G Internet services were restored in kulgam after remaining snapped for six days.

Train services between Banihal-Srinagar also remained suspended.
