A Commerce student hailing from South Kashmir’s Dooru region in Anantnag District has bagged the First position in Commerce Stream in the recently held Class 12 exams in the Kashmir valley.
Shagufta Ashraf Daughter of Mohammed Ashraf Sofi a resident of Dooru Anantnag secured 487 marks out of 500 in Commerce stream with 97.4% to bag the 4th position in the annual 12th Examination declared on 8 March 2021.
Shagufta who is a student of Government Higher Secondary School in Dooru bagged the first position in the commerce stream and 4th overall position in Kashmir Valley.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Shagufta said my heartbeats rose when anyone posted regarding the result declaration on Social media.
“I could not believe that I had secured the first position in commerce stream in the valley, one does not expect that studying in Government Schools, but our teachers work very hard, especially one Waseem Sir, worked hard on all the students during the online classes,” she said.
When it got impossible to continue the online classes, due to the reduced internet speed, Waseem Sir started teaching us at his home.
She thanked her parents and Waseem sir who provided students education at his home during covid pandemic disease.
“Due to his strenuous efforts, and providing education free of cost, my hard work paid dividends,” she told The Kashmiriyat.
