A youth from the Anantnag district of South Kashmir who had gone missing from Qatar in October has been arrested in New Delhi after being deported from the Gulf Country.
Muneeb Ahmed Sofi who according to his family was working in a juice factory in Doha Qatar lost contact with his family on 18 Oct. 2020.
The officials have said that Muneeb has been arrested by a team of Kulgam Police from IGI Airport New Delhi this morning after his deportation from Qatar.
As per an official, Muneeb was working as an Overground worker for the Militant outfit, Jaish e Muhammad and has been named in the FIRs 58/2020 U/S 13, 18, 19, 38, 39 ULA(P) Act.
“An accused arrested in the said case disclosed that he along with other OGWs were collecting money for JeM from various districts in Kashmir and were handing over the collected amount to Muneeb Ahmad Sofi who was in Qatar and was in contact with an active terrorist of JeM Waleed Bhai R/O Pakitan for purchase of arms and ammunition from Pakistan,” an official communique said.
Consequent to the deportation of Munee from Qatar to India, he was apprehended at IGI Airport and is being brought to Kulgam for further questioning and investigation.
