With flowers and garlands in their hands, Kashmiri Pandit women took to the streets of Jammu City to welcome congress leader, Rahul Gandhi who is currently on Bharat Jodo Yatra, a rally Congress says is aimed to end the polarization in the country.
Kashmiri Pandits took to the streets with flowers to welcome the Congress leader in the winter capital of Jammu Kashmir where they castigated PM Narendra Modi stating that he had done nothing for the community.
“All they do is make false promises. We have come here to welcome Rahul Gandhi purely because we are anguished at how the present dispensation has treated Kashmiri Pandits,” an aged Kashmiri pandit woman said.
She said that the community is suffering at all ends and nobody was paying attention to any of their demands. “They should list one thing, just one that they have done for Kashmiri Pandits,” she asked.
Our children are studying in Government schools since we cannot afford the fees of the private schools, she claimed, adding that the Jagti colony in Jammu, a transit camp for Kashmiri Pandits, was lying in a pathetic state.
“It has been three years and our condition is just worsening,” said the Pandit woman.Meanwhile, others gathered to welcome the Congress leader and said that the administration has stopped their salaries which is making them suffer heavily.
Earlier, a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits met Rahul Gandhi and appraised the Congress leader of various issues faced by the community.
Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti castigated to the Modi-led Government and said that BJP had done nothing for the Kashmiri Pandits.
“The humiliation & pain Kashmiri Pandits are going through under the current government is conveyed well by this woman. It is the real Kashmir Files. The question stands whether BJP will promote this version or not?”, Mehbooba Mufti asked.
