Amid a rise in Covid cases in Srinagar, the Ganie Mohalla locality in Srinagar’s Amda Kadal has been declared as a containment zone on Friday.
Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that all the entry and exit points to the Ganie Mohalla have been sealed as a preventive measure to stop the spread of the Covid-19 infection.
Pertinently Jammu Kashmir is seeing a surge in the daily number of Covid Cases since the last few days. on Thursday the region recorded 170 fresh coronavirus infections.
Srinagar district has the highest number of active cases at 698 followed by Baramulla and Budgam districts with 152 and 137 active cases, respectively.
On Thursday, 70 persons were tested positive in Srinagar- the summer capital of Jammu Kashmir.
An official said that the decision was taken after six members of a family tested Covid-19 positive from the Ganie Mohalla area of Amda Kadal in Srinagar.
