Two Militants and one CRPF man have been killed in a fierce encounter that started Tuesday morning between Government Forces and Local Militants in Bandzoo area of Pulwama.
An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a group of Militants hiding in the area opened fire upon a joint party of Government Forces in the area which resulted in an encounter.
Earlier, he said, forces had, based on a credible input about Militant movement in the area, launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
The Operation was jointly conducted by 55 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Jammu Kashmir Police, he told.
During the intermittent firing of almost three hours, one Government Force personnel suffered injuries and two Militants were also killed.
The CRPF man was rushed to the nearby hospital, however he succumbed on the way to the hospital.
An officious told The Kashmiriyat that the search operation at the area is still underway.
As per initial reports, the slain Militants are locals and are affiliated to Hizb ul Mujahideen.
