Another earthquake hits Jammu Kashmir

An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 on the Richter scale was reported from the Kathua district on Wednesday morning, according to the meteorological department.

While no loss of life or damage to property was reported, the earthquake struck at 9:15 a.m. at a depth of 10 km from the surface. Its coordinates are latitude 32.71 degrees and longitude 75.65 degrees, the officials said.

According to local reports reaching GNS, the jolt was felt momentarily and there was hardly any panic among the people.

Recently, there has been an increased  seismic activity reported from parts of Jammu Kashmir. The last earthquake reported from the region was on December 02.

According to reports reaching The Kashmiriyat, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale hit north Kashmir’s Baramulla district at 2:32 am on Friday (December 02), which created panic among several locals.
