The local administration in Anantnag launched a drive against “encroachments” at Soaf Shali, Kokernag on Wednesday.
An official said that 16 marlas of State Land was handed over on spot to Rural Development Department for construction of Panchayat Ghar
A board displaying the same shall also be installed on the retrieved land.
Earlier the authorities in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district claimed to have retrieved over 1700 kanals of land in Bijbehara through regular anti-encroachment and demolition drives.
These details were shared by SDM Bijbehara with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla during a meeting to review the revenue and allied issues at the sub-divisional level and in light of the various recent initiatives of the government, an official spokesperson said.
