Army Ransacked Homes, Thrashed Family in Tral: Mehbooba Mufti on Twitter

The former chief minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu Kashmir and the president of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday morning, tweeted that the Army had ransacked homes at Tral, the previous night.

In her tweet, Mehbooba also said that the daughter of the family that was thrashed had to be admitted to hospital.

“Army from Yagwani camp in Tral ransacked homes & ruthlessly thrashed a family last night. The daughter owing to her serious injuries was admitted to hospital. Not the first time that civilians from this village have been beaten up by army in this area @ChinarcorpsIA @adgpi,” Mehbooba tweeted.

It is pertinent to mention that Mehbooba had also written a letter to the Press Council of India on Monday, urging them “to send a fact-finding team to J&K, to independently verify” the claims of “intimidation, snooping and harassment of journalists” in the erstwhile state and “take remedial action.”
