Army trooper dies of cardiac arrest in Baramulla, another critically wounded in Land mine blast

An army officer died of a suspected heart attack in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, while another was critically wounded in a land mine blast along the Line of Control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

Official said that a colonel of the Indian army on Sunday afternoon complained of chest pain following which he was rushed to MI hospital where he was declared as brought dead on arrival.

The deceased officer has been identified as OP Sharma, a resident of Utter Pradesh, who was posted at Dagger Division Baramulla.

In a separate incident, An army man was injured in a mine blast along Line of Control in Poonch district this afternoon

Identified as Naik Rajeev Kumar from Himachal Pradesh, the army man suffered critical injuries after accidently stepping on a landmine in Krishna Ghati sector.
