Assembly elections: Top BJP leaders to visit J-K for comprehensive public outreach in August

Top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will visit Jammu  Kashmir starting in the first week of August as part of a comprehensive public outreach program, as per news agency Kashmir News Service.

This initiative, led by the BJP high command, aims to engage with residents and address their concerns within the Union Territory.

Sources indicate that these visits, strategically planned ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled for September, will cover both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, with a particular focus on the Jammu region where the BJP has substantial influence.

Kishan Reddy, Union Minister and Election Incharge for J&K BJP, recently expressed the party’s confidence in forming the next government in the region. “With the dedication of party workers and the faith of the people, the BJP is fully prepared for the Assembly elections and will form the next government in J&K,” Reddy asserted during a program in Jammu.

The outreach initiative will feature top BJP leaders and Union Ministers participating in public rallies, interacting with the local populace, and launching various development programs across different Assembly segments of the Union Territory.

Sources also revealed that the BJP has urged its cadre to be election-ready, advising them to enter election mode immediately and remain engaged with the masses throughout the election period. Jammu and Kashmir, with its 90 Assembly seats, presents a significant electoral challenge.

The BJP’s high command has encouraged party members to leave their homes and workplaces to fully immerse themselves in the electoral process during these crucial months leading up to the elections.

The BJP’s proactive approach and extensive public engagement are aimed at consolidating their position and securing a significant victory in the upcoming elections.

Recently, BJP chief in Jammu and Kashmir, Ravindra Raina, urged the Election Commission of India to announce the Assembly Election dates without delay.

“After BJP’s spectacular victory, we are now preparing for Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir,” Raina stated, emphasizing the party’s readiness and confidence.

The Supreme Court has ordered the Election Commission to hold Assembly elections in J&K by September 30, 2024, marking a pivotal moment for the region since the Assembly was last dissolved in 2018, followed by the reorganization of the state into two Union Territories and the repeal of its special status under Article 370 of the Constitution.
