A fresh survey has revealed that at six percent Jammu Kashmir has the lowest child marriages.
Six percent of women from Jammu Kashmir have been married before reaching the legal minimum age of 18, National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5) has revealed.
In India, around 25 percent of women have got married before the legal minimum age of marriage of 18 years. The legal age of marriage for women is 18 and 21 for men in the country.
At 35%, Jharkhand has reported the highest number of child marriages of women.
