The Recruitment has been on high since the three encounters of 01 April in South Kashmir’s Shopian and Islamabad (Anantnag) Districts.

On 15th of April, an Army trooper performing his duties at 12th JAKLI also joined militant ranks after which he released a picture on social media in which he was holding an AK assault rifle. A day afterHizbul Mujahedeen confirmed his entry into the organisation.

Another youth from Kakapora area in Pulwama who was pursuing Masters in Earth Sciences at University of Kashmir has also picked up Arms.

Many More youths from South Kashmir Districts including from Pulwama as reported by The Kashmiriyat are likely to have joined Militant groups.

According to an official figure, 220 Militants were active in the Kashmir valley at the beginning of 2017 and at least 220 Militants were killed in the year after Government Forces announced ‘Operation All out’, but the increase in the numbers of killings and active Militants despite that shows a dangerous trend and indicates that there is no quick end to the dispute in Jammu Kashmir.

The killings of the top commanders since the last year’s operation All out include the killings of top commanders of Militancy including Abu Dujana, Bashir Lashkar, Majid Zarger, Mohammed Yasin Itoo, Saddam Padder, Ayub Lelhari, Junaid Matoo,  Sameer Tiger, Shakoor Dar, Sabzar Bhat and many others.

A top official of Indian Army had told The Kashmiriyat  that they are going after the Commanders because they want the recruitment to come down, however it is visible that the action is not producing the desired results.
