At least 30 Youth Arrested in Achabal Belt During Raids

At least thirty youth have been arrested during raids in the Achabal belt of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) ahead of Panchayat Polls in the area in the past two days.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that thirty youth have been picked up during raids in Achabal, Hardpora, Breenti, Badoora, Trahpu areas of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District by Government Forces.

Some of the youth have been identified as Nawaz Ahanger, Amir Sofi, Akash Wani, Umar Nisar, Owais Sofi, all residents of Achabal belt.

A police official told The Kashmiriyat that the youth have been arrested in connection with the Panchayat Polls scheduled on 27 November in the area.

He said that most of the arrested youth have FIRs of stone throwing registered against them. (The Kashmiriyat).
