After remaining closed for nearly three months due to accumulation of heavy snow, the authorities on Saturday allowed one-way traffic movement on 85-km long Bandipora-Gurez road.
“Soon after clearing the snow by utilizing the men and machinery of BRO, the road was reopened today for the one-way vehicular movement of passengers and essential commodities from Bandipora to Gurez,” officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
They said that the drivers have been directed to travel to Gurez with snow-skid chains as a precautionary measure.
