Bar Association of Islamabad (Anantnag) Demands Removal of DC

December 14

The Bar Association of Islamabad (Anantnag) on Friday calling the District Development commissioner of this South Kashmir District as a miserable failure has demanded the transfer of the official.

Addressing a presser,  at the District court complex, the President of the Association, Advocate Fayaz Ahmed Sodagar alleged that the magistrate and his officials have time and again humiliated the members of the Bar Association.

Sogadar added that the DC had failed to check the basic problems, the public of the town faces each and every day. “The roads are full of potholes, the traffic is a mess, the entire town is facing problems because of the DC, whom we feel is incompetent,” he said.

He said scores of people everyday visit the mini-secretariat with a hope to get their grievances addressed, but most of them have to hopelessly return. “The District Development Commissioner who has created mess in the district,” Sodagar said.

“The inhabitants of the District including the members of Bar are in day in and day out hearing from the corridors of DC’s office that the said official is either busy in a meeting or is not feeling well, as a result of which he is not able to deliver goods for which he has  been posted,”he said.

He said the Bar Association has prepared a memorandum which will be handed over to the “people in power.”
