‘Bharat me rehna hoga to Modi Yogi kahna hoga,’ Policeman kills three Muslim passengers on Indian train

On Monday, July 31, in Maharashtra, India, near Palghar railway station, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable allegedly used his automatic weapon to shoot at three Muslim men who were on board the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express train Muslim Mirror reported.

The video of the incident went viral, in which the constable, who has been identified as Chetan Singh, can be heard hailing PM Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Yogi Adityanath.

“Agar Hindustan me rehna hai, toh mai kehta hun, Modi aur Yogi, ye do hain, aur aapke Thakrey (If you want to live in India, then I say, there are Modi and Yogi, these two, and your Thackeray),” he can be heard saying in the video.

According to an Indian Express report, two of the four victims were identified as Abdul Kadir and Asgar Kai. Identity on another victim is yet to be ascertained.

According to RPF (Railway Protection Force) sources, it is a customary procedure to assign senior officers and a team of constables to provide security for express trains. Recently, there was an incident involving a team led by Chetan Singh, which was assigned to escort a train until Surat railway station. During their journey, when the train passed Palghar railway station, an unexpected and tragic event occurred.

Chetan Singh, a member of the escort team, suddenly opened fire with his AKM, a modified version of the AK-47. Chetan Singh fired rounds in coaches B5, S6, and the pantry car, resulting in the deaths of three Muslim men. Tragically, Assistant Sub-Inspector Tikaram also lost his life in the gunfire. In total, twelve rounds were fired during the incident.

The motive behind this violent act is currently under investigation and Singh has been arrested.
