Bijbehara: House belonging to father of man arrested under militancy charges attached

The Jammu Kashmir Police have attached the house of the kin of a militancy accused person in the Subhanpora area of south Kashmir’s Bijbehara area.

An official said that the SUI of Jammu Kashmir Police has attached a property of one Abdul Rehman Ganie whose son Zubair is an accused in a militancy case registered at Police station Zainapora.

In a copy of order issued by the DySP CIO, SIU Shopian who is the Investigating officer of case FIR No.22/ 2022 U/S 307 IPC, 3/4 Explosive Substances Act, 7/251A Act 16,18, 20, 23, 39 UA (P) Act of PS Zainapora, the official has ordered the attachment of the property.

“Whereas, I have reasons to believe that immovable property ie. House belonging to you Abdul Rehman Ganie S/O Mohd Shaban Ganie R/O Subhanpora Bijbehara (Father of accused Zubair Ahmad Ganie) represents the proceeds of terrorism U/S 24 UA(P) Act,” read the order accessed by The Kashmiriyat.

The order further mentioned that the approval for attachment was approved by the Director General of Police JK vide PHQ J&K order No.1804 of 2023 dated 13.06.2023 issued under endorsement No. Legal /SEIZ-16-III/2022/25028-30 dated 13-06-2023 for attachment of house.

“Whereas, in view of above mentioned facts the, house belonging to Abdul Rehman Ganie 5/0 Mohd Shaban Ganie R/O Subhanpora Bijbehara (father of accused Zubair Alimad Ganie) under Khasra No.187, situated at Subhanpora Bijbehara is hereby attached U/S 25 (1) of UA(P) Act 1967 and you are directed not to transfer, lease out, disposed off, change its nature or deal with said property in any manner whatsoever except with the prior permission of designated authority or Director General of Police J&K,” read the attachent notice.
