A leader of the Bhartiya Janta Party has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in the Tral belt of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Official Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday late evening unknown gunmen shot at one BJP leader, Rakesh Pandit in the Tral belt of South Kashmir.
Rakesh was injured critically in the attack. He has been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
An official informed The Kashmiriyat that Rakesh has succumbed to his injuries,adding, “Rakesh was shot at the house of his neighbour Mushtaq Ahmed whose daughter Asifa has also sustained a bullet injury in her leg.”
Meanwhile sources informed The Kashmiriyat that Rakesh, who is a councillor despite being provided 02 PSOs & secured hotel accommodation in Srinagar went to Tral without PSOs.
