A Sarpanch was shot by suspected militants on Tuesday evening in Kulgam District.
According to the sources, Asif Ahmad from Akhran, Mir Bazar, Kulgam was shot at by suspected militants. The injured Sarpanch was taken to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
It’s important to mention here that the sarpanchs have become an easy target for such attacks. Recently, a pandit Sarpanch, Ajay Pandita also lost his life in an attack.
