BJP stages protest after Bilawal Bhutto refers to PM Modi as ‘Butcher of Gujarat’

Demanding the ousting of Pakistan from United Nations, scores of BJP workers on Friday staged a protest against Pakistan near the country’s embassy in Delhi over the country’s foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto’s ‘butcher of Gujarat’ remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Delhi Police put up barricades to stop the BJP workers from marching towards the Pak Embassy. However, the protesters broke through the first round of barricades and began marching toward the embassy.

The police stopped them at the second line of barricades put up in the Chanakyapuri area. Water cannons have also been placed here. Some BJP workers were also detained by the police.

“(I want to tell India) that Osama bin Laden is dead, but the butcher of Gujarat lives and he is the Prime Minister of India¦ He (PM Modi) was banned from entering this country until he became the prime minister. This is the prime minister of the RSS and the foreign minister of the RSS. What is the RSS? The RSS takes inspiration from Hitler’s SS,” Bilawal Bhutto said.

Pakistan’s foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was responding to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s ‘Osama killed in Pakistan’ remark at the UN headquarters when he attacked PM Modi over the 2002 Gujarat riots.
