On Tuesday, in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, a body of a 12 year old girl was found buried in a pit at a home of a villager, she was missing from six days.
On February 28, the father of the girl filed a missing complaint and alleged that a person namely Harendra had kidnapped her daughter. Her body was recovered from the accused’s house on Tuesday. According to the police, the accused is a 22 year old man who works as a laborer in Delhi. The day when the girl went missing, the police said he was at his home in Bulandshahr.
On Wednesday, the accused was arrested by the UP police from Himachal Pradesh, said Police Chief, Bulandshahr, Santosh Singh Kumar.
The police said, during investigation the accused confessed that he killed the girl then buried her in a pit in his house after attempting rape on her. The girl has come to his home for drinking water, when she was working with her parents in a field.
Singh said , she left for home to drink water. But when she did not return, her sisters called out for her, but there was no response. The family assumed she had gone home and went back to work in the fields.
However, later they did not find her there and started searching for her, he added. He added that in the evening, when they came to the same spot where the girl was recovered, they found a man who was drunk but he could not locate the girl.
The family kept searching her for three days before filing a missing complaint in the police station. Yesterday, the police along with some locals started looking for the girl, they found a spot inside a house where it seemed a pit had been dug. When this was excavated, they found the girl’s body, the police said.
Further investigation is carrying on and the police said, the house belonged to a father-son duo.
However father is in the police custody, while the search for his son still going, Singh said.
