Braving Rain and Tear Smoke Shelling, Thousands Attend Militant Funeral in Sopore

Intense Clashes broke out Friday in Sopore Township after the funeral of a militant killed in a brief exchange of fire with government forces late night on Thursday.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells and pellets at the funeral procession of the slain Militant Naseer Ahmed Teeli in Sopore’s Arampora.

The youth retaliated  by hurling stones at the government forces.

After a brief disruption, funeral prayers of Teli were offered at the Chinkipora Park, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers despite heavy rains.
