The officials from Assistant Controller Legal Meteorology and Revenue Department on Saturday charged a fine of Rupees 65,000 from various brick kiln owners who were found involved in selling bricks at exorbitant rates.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that acting upon the instructions given by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Raghav Langera, a team conducted a surprise visit of brick kiln units that were allegedly selling bricks at higher rates.
Earlier, the DC Pulwama vide his office order No. 67 DCP /Brick Kilns/2020 dated14 .09.2020 has fixed rate of bricks as 21000 per 3000 bricks including all taxes except transportation.
The team while inspecting and recording the statement of the complainant came to the conclusion that few brick kiln owners were found involved in overcharging thus violating orders issued by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama.
The team imposed a penalty on spot against the violators and said that strict action as per law shall follow.
The district Administration Pulwama has appealed to the general public to approach his office to register complaints if any, against those brick kiln owners who are violating government-approved rates.
