Around 200 families affected and their ground contact was cut off due to the sudden collapse of a temporary wooden footbridge over Nallah Sindh which connects about three villages at Rayil area of Gund in Ganderbal district.
Locals of Rayil speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a wooden bridge was constructed on Nalllah Sindh before 15 years so that people living on the other side of the river including Theekrey Pati, Kil Thoal, and half area of Bota Kullan can get facilities but now the footbridge was completely damaged due to which the contact of the local village has been disconnected from the Rayil and its adjacent areas.
Locals appealed the administration several times to build a concrete footbridge over Nallah Sindh in this place so that the local population does not have to face difficulties, but no steps are being taken in this regard till now.
