The Jammu Kashmir casual labourers united front on Monday staged a protest demonstration against administration at Kokernag regarding their demands particularly Regularization policy Revocation of SRO 520.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat they said, “ we have been without pay for many months now, we demand that our salaries be released.”
They alleged that a large number of workers are without wages, many of them have turned over age and they have their families to support, Under such circumstances, they will not be able to feed their families. Many of therm are facing starvation, a casual labour said while talking to The Kashmiriyat.
They further pointed out that there were over 60,000 casual labourers and need based workers engaged in different departments and working for the last 15-20 years but unfortunately they were not regularized.
Several committees were also framed by different Governments but no result could be achieved.

They strongly demanded their regularization, release of pending wages and implementation of Minimum Wages Act as per Central norms.
