‘Post selfies with Jhanda, Mitti and Diya’, Admin tells Government officers ahead of August 15

In its latest order, the Jammu Kashmir admin has directed all the government officers to use selfies with images of ‘Jhanda (flag), Mitti (soil) and Diya (earthen lamp) as Display Pictures (DPs) on their social media handles for the August 15 celebrations. As per an official notice, the decision was taken by Chief Secretary (CS) Arun Kumar Mehta during a meeting called to review the arrangements for 15 August, 2023. The admin has directed the Deputy Commissioners (DCs), and Heads of the Departments (HODs) to ensure that the orders are followed on the ground. "All government officers and public at large will hoist tricolour over their houses. Three IUST students selected for Summer camp in Poland

Three engineering students from IUST were selected to participate in the prestigious Summer Camp at Nicolaus University in Torun, Poland. Education department bans corporal punishment in schools across Kashmir

School Education Department Thursday ordered blanket ban on corporal punishment and other forms of child abuse in the educational institutes across Kashmir division. KU announces summer vacation from July 28

The University of Kashmir Monday announced summer vacations from July 28. The summer vacations will end on August 6, 2023. “It is for the information of all concerned that the teaching departments of the University and its satellite campuses shall observe summer vacations w.e.f 28th July 2023 to 6th August 2023”, reads an order, a copy of which lies with GNS. “However, the Departmental offices shall function normally, and the Heads of the Departments/Directors of Campuses/Centres shall ensure that the examinations, if any, and other activities are conducted as per schedule”, reads the order further.

‘Anxiety racing among J-K youth’, JKSSB candidates express concern over growing unemployment

CUK students stage protest against fee hike, boycott classes

Shah Basit Scores of students at the Central University of Kashmir (CUK), Ganderbal staged a protest against the hike in fees. Students numbered in dozens on Thursday gathered outside the University campus on Thursday and said that they were being charged higher fees in comparison with the CUK campus Jammu and provided lesser facilities. A protesting student spoke to The Kashmiriyat and said that their seniors would pay 30 to 40 per cent less fees than what the students are presently paying. "From our bus service to everything else, the university has not made any improvement of the facilities provided at the University," he said.
