A student from Jammu Kashmir's Pulwama district, Mohammed Iqbal Bhat has been felicated the Jawahar Lal Nehru Award by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Animal Science field. A Resident of Wuyan area in South Kashmir's Pulwama district, Mohammed Iqbal Bhat, was awarded at the 92nd ICAR Foundation Day ceremony which was held online on July 16 this year amid the global COVID-19 pandemic. Iqbal completed his PhD in Biochemistry from Animal Biochemistry Division, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana in 2018 and is presently Research Associate there. Irshad Hussain Spokesperson of central university of Kashmir, Nadiya Rasheed had organised a peaceful protest at press enclave Srinagar on Saturday demanding the university to waive off their admission fee. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Nadiya said, “the economy has been crushed due to covid 19, and we are unable to pay the fee”. "I am not alone here, I represent all the departments of Central university of Kashmir, our university has already mentioned the deadline of fee on 28th July," she said. "At least, the authorities should waive off  60% of the  fee," she added. The protesting spokesperson of Central University of Kashmir appealed Governor led administration to look into matter and waive off their admission fee as early as possible.

At a time when the government is claiming to have taken steps to ensure quality education for the students, more than 16,000 teachers working in government-run-schools in Jammu Kashmir are ‘undergraduate’—taking a toll on the future of students. In the School Education Department, around 16,077 teachers have not a qualification of above graduation. The figures were revealed by the Department of School Education and Literacy of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in a Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE). The UDISE figures reveal, of total 107,445 teachers in the department, only 91,368 teachers have qualification above graduation. Saima Malik A Kashmir boy has been awarded the prestigious IsDB scholarship, an international scholarship for Muslim students. Umar shafi, from D.K Pora, Herman, in south Kashmir’s Shopian district became the first Kashmiri to be awarded  this scholarship, Umar is currently pursuing his MBBS from Kazakhstan. This scholarship will cover the cost for the remaining two years of his degree. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the results of class X board exams. The students can check their results online on cbse.nic.in, cbseresuts.nic.in or results.nic.in. The result will also be sent to the candidates through SMS on their registered mobile. However, to check the results, students can obtain the results by sending <CBSE10>space<ROLL NO>space<ADMIT CARD ID> via SMS on 7738299899. The schools will automatically get the entire school result on their official email ids. The CBSE will provide academic documents such as marksheet, migration certificates, pass certificates and skill certificate digitally through its academic repository ‘Parinam Manjusha’, which is integrated with DigiLocker App. Check Your Results HERE

The board has followed its revised assessment scheme to prepare CBSE results this year. The board had to revise its assessment scheme after examinations for a few papers were cancelled.
