Authorities on Sunday decided to keep the schools and higher educational institutes including coaching centers closed in Jammu and Kashmir till further orders. However, the educational institutions have been “permitted to seek personal attendance of vaccinated staff/students for administrative purposes and Independence day celebrations subject to the limit of 25 and strict adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour.” The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Arun Kumar, who is also Chairperson State Executive Committee. Educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir are also likely to remain shut for the month of June 2021 in view of the covid 19 situations in the region. Earlier the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, in view of the situation arising out of Corona ordered the closure of all educational institutions till 31 May. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a directive will be issued in the following days regarding the extension in the closure of educational institutes till June 30, 2021.
