AMU student suspended for raising ‘Allah o Akbar’ slogan during January 26 event
A student of Aligarh Muslim University was suspended for raising 'Allah o Akbar' slogan during the republic day function at the university.
A University student told The Kashmiriyat over the phone that a student Wahid u Zaman from West Bengal was suspended after he raised Allah o Akbar (God is Great) slogan during a ceremony on 26 January at SS Hall (south).
He said that the video was shared on social media after which sections of Indian news channels shared the video demonizing the university and its students calling them 'habitual' offenders.
In the video, students, clad in the uniform of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), are purportedly heard chanting the slogan after the hoisting of the Tri-colour on campus, outside Strachey Hall.
