The govt delivered its response hours after Twitter issued a statement expressing concern over a potential threat to freedom of expression in India. 36-year-old Sikh Man among Nine people killed in Mass Shooting in US

A 36 year old Sikh man, Taptejdeep Singh, was identified among the nine people murdered in yet another act of mass shooting in the US. The incident occurred in the city of San Jose. On Thursday, an employee of the rail yard in the heart of the Silicon Valley shot down 9 people and then killed himself. The news agency AP has stated that the shooter has been identified as Samuel Cassidy (57 years old). Taptejdeep Singh was a light rail operator at the Valley Transportation Authority for the past 9 years. He was one of the first victims to be publicly identified by his family, who said that it was his second day of work after a vacation. Muslim Group in Tamil Nadu Perform Last Rites of 2064 Covid Victims

During the Covid-19 pandemic, volunteers of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam have come forward to bury people who died of Covid and whose family does not have the resources to conduct a decent funeral. Also, in certain cases, family members refuse to take the corpse to the crematorium fearing that they too will be infected. According to the organization's office bearers, their 4,000 odd volunteers have helped to cremate and bury 2,064 people across the state from April 1 to May 25 as per the Covid protocols. During the first wave of the pandemic, they conducted funerals of 1,350 people. Promised Food, 22-year-old woman, raped In Ambulance in Rajasthan

On Monday, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped in an ambulance by an ambulance driver and his associate after they promised her food. The incident took place in Jaipur, the police said. As per an NDTV report, the accused drove to a secluded area where they raped the woman. The woman is married, Surendra Pancholi, the S.H.O of Moti Doongri Station, said. Based on the woman's complaint, a case has been registered against the accused. The Police informed that the woman's statement has been recorded and her medical examination has been carried out. The ambulance driver and his friend have been taken into custody and are being interrogated.

The Centre has allocated to states and Union Territories (UTs) 29,250 additional vials of Amphotericin-B, a key drug to treat raging mucormycosis (black fungus) cases in India for 11,717 patients currently being treated at different hospitals across the country. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers D.V Sadananda Gowda announced that the additional 29,250 vials of Amphotericin-B were allocated to all states and the UTs and central institutions on Wednesday. Besides this, 19,420 vials of Amphotericin-B were allocated on May 24, and 23,680 vials of the drug on May 21, Gowda informed through his tweet. Facebook may Have to shut operations in India by May 26

The deadline to comply with the new legal rules meant for big social media platforms, which were issued by the government three months ago, is ending on Tuesday, threatening the operations of the likes of Twitter in India. According to top official sources, social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and others, which were required to abide by the rules notified in the gazette of India on February 25 under Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code Rules, 2021, have failed to comply on many accounts till date.
