Modi government on Thursday, retaliated against Twitter on Koo. The govt delivered its response hours after Twitter issued a statement expressing concern over a potential threat to freedom of expression in India.
In a statement, the Ministry of Electronics and IT accused Twitter of attempting to dictate its terms to the world’s largest democracy.

It also denounced the statement as baseless, false and an attempt to defame India.
The government response first appeared not on Twitter, but on Koo.
The same press release appeared later on the ministry’s Twitter handle.
Koo is an Indian microblogging and social networking and was founded on March, 1, 2020. It has won the Govt of India’s Aatmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge in August 2020.
