Intense Clashes Erupt in Kulgam Area as Locals Demand Removal of Army Camp

September 28 Hundreds of locals including women on Friday afternoon hit the streets of Redwani locality in Quimoh belt of South Kashmir's Kulgam amid pro Independence slogans demanding the removal of Army camp recently established in the locality. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that scores of men and women on Friday afternoon came out on the streets shouting pro independence and Anti India slogans to demand the removal of an Army camp of 1RR of Indian Army recently set up in Redwani Bala. Forces vandalize Property in Kulgam Area amid Clashes

September 27 The Locals of Redwani area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday Night accused the Government Forces of vandalizing property in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that some youth threw stones on the vehicles of Government Forces who were passing through the area, after which the Army men stopped their vehicles and barged inside homes, vandalizing everything that met their eye. Army Man Injured in Islamabad (Anantnag) Gunfight Succumbs

September 27 An army man of 19 RR identified as Happy Singh who was injured critically in a gunfight at Dooru area of Islamabad (Anantnag) in south Kashmir succumbed to injuries in the Military Hospital in Srinagar Officials confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that the Army man had been critically injured during the gunfight at Dalwach area of Dooru. The officer said that the critically wounded soldier Happy Singh succumbed to injuries. Earlier, a militant identified as Asif Malik was killed during the gunfight while as some Militants reportedly managed to escape.

Another Army Camp Comes up in South Kashmir

September 25 As Militancy has shown a sign of drastically growing up in the present year, the Indian Security agencies have showed visible concerns to stop the same. The Army and the Police has constantly asking the Militants to shun the 'path of violence' and return home and join the 'mainstream.' September 24 The Government Forces on Monday launched a cordon and search operation in the Naik Mohallah locality of Bhan Area in Quimoh belt of South Kashmir's Kulgam District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday evening, the forces including 9 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Naik Mohallah area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Quimoh locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. Section 144 Imposed in Kulgam

September 15 The authorities have imposed section 144 in parts of Kulgam district of South Kashmir following an encounter that raged in Czogam area of Kulgam early morning on Friday. Five Militants have been killed in the Encounter, all of them are believed to be locals. However despite section 144 being imposed people have gathered in large numbers near the encounter site in Czogam and in Sopat areas of Kulgam. Massive clashes are also going on in Churath area of Qazigund in Kulgam. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) of 1973 empowers an executive magistrate to prohibit an assembly of more than four persons in an area.

Five Militant Bodies Recovered From Qazigund Gunfight Site- Officials

September 15 Five Militants have been killed in the ongoing gunfight at Matipora Czogam area of Qazigund area of South Kashmir's Kulgam early morning on Saturday. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 9RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched a CASO in the area late night on Friday. During the CASO the holed up Militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight after which reinforcements were rushed to the spot. September 15 Firing has resumed at the gunfight site in Czogam area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district early morning on Saturday, Police officials told The Kashmiriyat. September 15 Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Cozgam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. Three Militant bodies have been recovered from the gunfight site, official sources told The Kashmiriyat. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that scores of protesters including women assembled and pelted stones on forces who responded to immense tear smoke shelling.
