A CRPF vehicle met with an accident at Tangnar area of Doodhpathri in Khansahib tehsil of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday, officials said. Official sources told the news agency JKNS that the vehicle, whose registration number is not yet known, skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge. “Some CRPF personnel have reportedly sustained injuries in the accident,” the official said, adding that rescue operation was launched soon after the incident. They said, the exact number of injured personnel and their condition was not immediately known.—(JKNS) More details are awaited.

Kashmiri student dies of heart attack in Kharar

Meer Irfan A Kashmiri student studying at a college in Chandigarh passed away on Tuesday morning after suffering a heart attack at his rented accommodation in Kharar. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a fellow student confirmed that the deceased was Adeel Nazir, a sixth-semester BCA student at SVIET College and a resident of Hyderpora, Srinagar. “He collapsed at his room on Landran Road around 11:11 a.m. We rushed him to Civil Hospital, Kharar, but the doctors declared him brought dead,” the student said. His body is currently at the hospital. Friends and students have urged authorities and counselors to help reach out to his family in Kashmir.

Floriculture Dept to plant 15,000 perennial trees across Srinagar parks, public spaces

Youth dead after being hit by cricket ball in Kunzer

A 13-year-old boy died on Saturday while playing cricket in his native village of Takiya Batapora in Kunzer area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. According to Kashmir Bulletin (KB), Shahzaib Muzaffar Shah, a Class 7 student and son of Muzaffar Shah, was struck on the neck by a cricket ball during a game, leaving him unconscious. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and later transferred to JVC Srinagar, where doctors declared him brought dead. Several detained for spreading ‘false information’ on Bandipora encounter: Police

Police on Sunday said they have detained several social media handlers for allegedly spreading false information regarding the recent encounter in the Ajas area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district. In a statement issued to GNS, the police said that Bandipora Police received credible inputs from multiple sources indicating that certain individuals had "circulated fabricated and misleading narratives" on social media about the encounter that took place at Kulnar Bazipora Ajas on April 24, 2025. Following this, a criminal case has been registered against the account holders responsible for sharing the false information. “The dissemination of such fabricated content poses a threat to national security and has the potential to disrupt law and order in the region," the statement said....

2nd-year MBBS student found dead under mysterious conditions at GMC Jammu

A second-year MBBS student was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Boys Hostel of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Jammu Kashmir News Service reported As per officials quotes by the news agency,  the 2nd-year MBBS student , a resident of Harni, Mendhar. His body was found hanging inside his room at the hostel. Soon after receiving the information, police reached the spot and have taken cognizance of the incident.
