Civilian Injured- India Pakistan Trade Fire on LOC

January 17 A civilian was injured Thursday when Pakistani troops violated ceasefire and resorted to firing and mortar shelling along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, officials said. Northern Command chief Lt Gen Ranbir Singh said the Army is replying befittingly to the Pakistani aggression. Pakistan troops resorted to firing and mortar shelling on forward posts and civilian areas along the LoC in Nowshera sector, the officials said. Bad Weather- Air Traffic suspended in Kashmir Valley

January 16 Authorities on Wednesday suspended all the flights to Kashmir valley due to low visibility as fresh snowfall began across valley. The Decision to halt the air traffic was taken due to low visibility and slippery condition of the road. MeT predicts heavy snowfall in Kashmir for at least five days. Meanwhile weathermen Wednesday predicted heavy snowfall for at least five days across Kashmir. They said that a comparatively intense western disturbance is becoming active over Jammu Kashmir from January 19 to January 22. The MeT officials said that under its influence moderate to heavy snowfall is likely to occur in the valley during this period.

Kashmir Highway Blocked After Fresh Snowfall

January 11 The vehicular movement on the highway connecting Jammu with Srinagar has been temporarily suspended due to fresh snowfall at various places including the Jawahar tunnel.
