Sex Racket Busted in Srinagar-7 Including 2 Army men Arrested

August 01 The Jammu Kashmir Police has claimed to have busted sex racket in Srinagar and arrested the accused from Bemina on Wednesday. Detailing the incident, Police said that acting on a specific information, police raided the Hamdaniya Colony in Bemina and arrested two ladies, four male including two local Army personnel and kingpin of the said racket. The Jammu Kashmir Police has lodged an FIR No. 284/2018 in this regard and investigation taken up. Sources say that more arrests are expected in this connection.

PDP Halted Work on Mini Secretariat planned by Omar Abdullah, Allege Tangmarg Residents

August 01 SAJAD HAMEED On 06 June 2012 the foundation stone of mini secretariat Tangmarg was laid by the former chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir, Omar Abdullah along with Minister of Agricultural And MLA Gulmarg Ghulam Hassan Mir. Indian Flag Will not be seen in Kashmir if Article 35A is abolished, Says NC Leader

06 Drug Peddlers arrested by Jammu Kashmir Police

July 31 The Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested Six people on charges of drug peddling in two separate incidents in Samba and Rajouri districts of Jammu Kashmir. In the first incident, a car was intercepted by Jammu Kashmir Police last night at Sunderbani area in Rajouri district and three people were arrested with 18 grams of brown sugar, Police said. In the second incident, three persons were arrested in connection with peddling of 20 grams of heroin in Samba district. They were identified as Surinder, Abhishek Sharma and Ajay Sharma.

Body of Mudasir Handed Over to Family-Stone Pelting Clashes in Barzulla

July 31 Intense Clashes have erupted in the Barzulla area of Srinagar on Tuesday between the youth and Government Forces. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Militancy and pro Freedom slogans threw stones on Government Forces deployed in the areas. The Forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed. Pertinently the body of Mudasir from Barzulla who was killed in a gunfight on June 29 in Kupwara has been handed over to his family. First Time in Kupwara- Rifle of a Policeman Snatched

July 31 For the First time in District Kupwara, Unknown persons overpowered a cop and snatched a service rifle from a cop in Kandhar area of North Kashmir's Kupwara District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat a policeman attached as a security personnel to former minister and Abdul Haq Khan was overpowered by some persons who snatched his service near Kandhar area. 2 Arrested with 30 Kilo Poppy

July 31 The Jammu Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested Two persons  with 30 kg of poppy on the outskirts of Jammu city. During routine checks at Manwal village, last night, a Maruti car driver tried to evade the police party. The police followed the car and nabbed its driver and his companion after a short chase. As much as 30 kg of poppy was found in the car. Following this, a case was registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and the duo were arrested. During questioning, the accused said they brought the drug consignment from Srinagar to sell the same to the youth of Jammu. The police official said more persons are suspected to be involved in the case and further investigation is on.
