December 10 The Director General of Police JK, Dilbagh Singh has ordered promotion of 73 Sub-Inspectors to the rank of Inspector. These officers have been promoted under PHQ order Number 6521 of 2018 of Executive Police, a police spokesperson said. The promotions were cleared by the Departmental Promotion Committee which met at Police Headquarters under the chairmanship of DGP on December 08, 2018. The DGP in his message felicitated the newly promoted officers and their families and urged them to work with more dedication and devotion in the interest of Public peace and welfare.

November 29 Shabir Khan Amid massive clashes thousands of people attended the last rites of Slain militants at Hajin in North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Monday. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that people in thousands assembled at Parray Mohalla to participate in the funeral prayers of teenagers. Slain Saqib Shieikh and Mudasir Parray were killed along with a Pakistani Lashkar-e-Toiba Militant in a gunfight with government forces at Muj gund area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday. Soon after funeral prayers, Scores of youth pelted stones on deployed forces who in turn lobbed teargas shells to disperse them. In the Action of the forces, many persons were injured.

December 10 The Video of a woman who is the mother of a slain teenager killed in Srinagar encounter on Sunday has gone viral over social networking. In this video, the mother of Saqib Bilal Sheikh is expressing satisfaction over the fact that her son died as a 'martyr.' “I am happy that my son died as a martyr as he had chosen the righteous path, ” says mother of this slain Hajin teenage boy. December 09 The police have identified the identities of three militants killed during the 18-hour long gunfight in Mujgund area located in outskirts of Srinagar city. December 09 At lest six people have sustained injuries during the ongoing clashes near the Encounter site in the Mujigund area of Central Kashmir's Srinagar District. The Government Forces fired tear smoke shells, pellets and bullets on the protesting youth as they tried to march towards the encounter site. December 09 The weather officials on Sunday said that moderate rain and snow was likely to occur in Jammu Kashmir in the next 24 hours. “Snowfall in the higher reaches is likely to disrupt connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and outside,” a Met Department official said.
