October 22 A Skih Social and Religious Organisation, Gurmat Taksal (IGS) Jammu Kashmir has strongly condemned the killing of 'innocent civilians' in kulgam and said that they share grief of the family and stand with them in this need of hour. They said that The bloodshed in Kashmir should end for once and all. "It pains to see Kashmiris are loosing their near and dear ones since decades," adding that, "the sikhs of Kashmir always stand with their Muslim brethren." They said that Kashmir is a disputed territory and it should be resolved according to aspirations of kashmiri people. October 22 Restrictions have been imposed in most of the towns in the Kashmir valley on Monday against the killing of ten people on Sunday From Kulgam Mohammed Ashraf Ganie reported that thousands of women and men are seen flocking the houses of the seven slain youth who were killed in Army firing yesterday. He said that despite strict restrictions, a large number of people are visiting the Kulgam areas to pay their tributes to the slain youth. October 22 World Famous Islamic Organization, Minhaj ul Quran's Kashmir wing has expressed grief over the gruesome tragedy of Kulgam where seven civilians were killed in a single day. The District President of the organization, Sheikh Sajad Ahmad on Monday strongly condemned the killings in south Kashmir’s Kulgam. He said, “our youth are being slaughtered like animals and entire Valley is in shock and state of mourning over the Killing of seven civilians in Laroo Kulgam." He further said, that Kashmiris are with the people of Kulgam in this hour of grief and sorrow.

Three Army Men Killed along Line of Control

October 21 At least two Pakistani infiltrators and three Government forces personnel lost their lives in an encounter at Rajouri district while one Army man was injured in the encounter. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that The encounter took place at Sunderbani sector in the Rajouri district along the Line of Control (LoC). The government forces claimed to have recovered a minimum of two AK-47 rifles from the killed Militants. Woman Dies of Electric Shock in Budgam

October 21 Sajad Hameed A woman died of an electric shock in Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a woman identified as Shafeeqa Bano, a resident of Hokhlitri village in Khan Sahib received an electric shock while repairing an electric heater at her residence on Sunday morning. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead. The Jammu Kashmir Police has taken cognizance of the matter.

ULB Polls- Independents Lead in Ganderbal

18 Year old Boy Drowns to Death in Kupwara

October 20 SHABIR KHAN An 18 year old youth drowned while fishing in a pond at Chandigam area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Shaheen Ahmad Mir (18) son of Abdul Rashid Mir of Chandigam, Lolab along with his friends had gone for fishing when he slipped and drowned in Mir Ser (pond) in the locality. The friends and others tried to evacuate him but he died on spot. A police officer confirmed the death of the youth.

South Kashmir- BJP Report Card from ULB Elections

The Bhartiya Janta party has won 53 of the 132 wards in South Kashmir where polls were held in four phases earlier this month. The unprecedented victory for the right wing party has given it control of at least four of the 20 civic bodies in the four districts of South Kashmir. The results of 94 wards of south Kashmir have been declared so far in which the Congress has managed to win 28 seats. The party, thus, will have control of at least three municipal bodies. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) did well in Shopian where its candidates won in 12 wards unopposed. 193 Militants Killed in 2018 So Far

October 20 With the elimination of six more Militants in the last 24 hours in different incidents across Kashmir valley the security have come closer to breaching the previous year tally of 213- highest after 2010 when 270 Militants were killed in the joint operations. According to official sources since January 1, 2018 till date a total number of 193 Militants have been killed by the joint teams of security forces in the State.
