August 11 A total of of 122 Militants and 33 Government Force personnel have been killed during Anti Militancy operation so far this year. As per records available to The Kashmiriyat, a Total of 13 Militants were killed in the month of January while nine Government Force personnel were also killed which included the Attack on the New Years eve ending with the killing of five Troopers and three Militants. BJP Does not Have Guts to Abrogate Article 35A, Says BJP MLA

August 11 Gagan Bhagat, the BJP MLA from RS Pura in Jammu has dared his party to abrogate Article 35 A, which grants special status to Jammu Kashmir. While addressing a rally in the Jammu region, He said that the Party is be-fooling the people of Jammu to keep its vote bank in tact. He said BJP wants to get votes from Jammu keeping larger perspective in mind across the country. The MLA has been suspended from the party for a period of three months over a family dispute.

JKCSCC Calls for Complete shutdown on August 27

August 11 The Jammu Kashmir civil society coordination committee (JKCSCC) has called for a complete shutdown on August 27 against the attempts to abrogate the special status of Jammu Kashmir. “Safeguarding Article-35A is our responsibility. Every citizen of Jammu Kashmir, irrespective of caste and religion is ready to give up his life to defend the special status of Kashmir,” JKCSCC leader Mufti Nisar-ul-Islam said while addressing a Press conference in Srinagar. Pertinently the Supreme court of India has deferred the hearing on Article 35 A to August 27, a day after the conclusion of Annual Amarnath Yatra.

4 Army men Including Major Killed in North Kashmir Encounter

 August 07 An Indian Army Major and three soldiers were killed in a gunfight with Militant in Gurez Sector along the Line of Control in North Kashmir's Bandipora District. Reports suggest that Army intercepted a group of eight infiltrators who were trying to cross from Gurez in north Kashmir.
