Authorities imposed strict restrictions across Kashmir on Sunday to prevent any gatherings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr that was celebrated here after sighting of new moon on Saturday evening. And despite lockdown small Eid prayers gathering took place across Kashmir. All the main roads were closed with concertina wires and iron barricades to prevent movement of the people but by the time strict restrictions were in place people had already offered prayers but the gatherings were very small and localised. Unknown Persons Vandalise Mosque in Srinagar

A mosque in Botakadal area of Srinagar was vandalised by unidentified persons on the night of May 19, after which the Jammu Kashmir Police registered an FIR has been lodged against the incident in the police station, Lal Bazar. Mir Junaid A 12-year-old boy injured during a house collapse in Nawa Kadal encounter site, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a boy named as Basim son of Aijaz Ahmad of Chota Bazar  in Karan Nagar succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. He was injured at the encounter site on late Tuesday when a house collapsed, 15 houses overall were damaged at the site of the encounter. Bazim is class 7th students and was undergoing treatment at SMHS hospital here succumbed to his injuries. Pertinently, some people on late Tuesday evening visited the encounter site at Nawa Kadal where two militants including a top Hizb militant Junaid Sehrai were killed. The house there got collapsed suddenly, leaving four persons wounded.

2 BSF Men Killed in Grenade Attack in Ganderbal- Weapons Snatched

Rayees Shah Two Government Force personnel have been killed in a grenade attack by suspected Militants in the Padrech area of Ganderbal in Central Kashmir. A Police official confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that Militants hurled a grenade injuring two BSF men patrolling the road in Pandrach area, and also snatched their weapons. These BSF men were immediately rushed to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar, however, one of them succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, while another one who was in a critical condition and being treated at the hospital, has too succumbed to his injuries. The government, fulfilling its commitment towards providing succour to J&K residents stranded outside UT due to lock-down imposed in the wake of global pandemic, has transported over 74218 residents of J&K back to their hometowns through COVID special trains, buses and flights.
