Burglars Loot Gurduwara in Srinagar- Police Launches Investigation

Mir Junaid Burglars on Saturday looted the Kalvi Dhar Gurudwara in Jawahar Nagar area of Srinagar and decamped with the cash and other valuable items from the donation box of the holy gurduwara. An official confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that a Police team jeaded by the station house officer in Rajbagh Nagar after being informed about the incident reached there at Gurdwara, and found the lock at the entrance broken. A Forensic lab was also taken to the venue by the Jammu Kashmir Police, officials said. Encounter between Militants and Forces Starts in Kashmir’s Kulgam- Internet Snapped

An Encounter broke out between government forces and militants at wanpora in Redwani rea of Kulgam district on Saturday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 01 RR, CRPF and Kulgam Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area in wee hours of Saturday. An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. Locals said that massive gunshots are being heard in the area, slow mobile internet services have also been barred in the district.

The Administrative Council (AC) which met under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu, accorded sanction to the extension of coverage of Jammu Kashmir Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) to transgenders, by including them as beneficiaries under the Scheme. Earlier, the transgenders did not qualify for financial benefits under ISSS. However, with this decision of the Administrative Council, the transgenders will be able to benefit from ISSS. On Monday, the son and wife of an advisor to the Jammu Kashmir lieutenant governor have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, officials said on Monday. The advisor to Lt Governor G C Murmu has gone into self-quarantine at the super-speciality hospital in Reasi district where his son and wife are being kept at an isolation ward, they said. The advisor's wife and son had returned from Delhi a few days back and were staying at a guest house.
