Dr. Lubna posted at a in Primary health care center in Abura in the Baramulla District alleged harassment by the Jammu Kashmir Police.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the doctor said that she had parked her vehicle outside the Noor ul Huda Market Baramulla town when she went for a checkup inside a private clinic, as she returned she found the tyres of her vehicle deflated.

The doctor said that when she went inside the clinic and parked her vehicle outside, she had left her younger sister, inside the vehicle, in case of any emergencies, “i had left the key with her, as there might be a need to immediately remove the vehicle.”

However, she said, her sister was made to get out of the vehicle and the Police deflated the tyres, As soon as i came out, i tried to inquire, but nobody told me, anything.

The incident comes days after the allegations of harassment leveled against the Police by a doctor, Dr Syed Maqbool, a cardiologist in Jammu Kashmir’s Srinagar who was allegedly assaulted by the police and detained for hours last week while he was rushing for a medical emergency.

The Senior superintendent of Jammu Kashmir Police upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat ridiculed the allegations and said that when the Police asked the doctor to verify the Policemen who had deflated her tyres, she did not.

In fact, a Police party, went and got the tyres of her car repaired.

Moreover, her car was standing in the way of traffic, which created a heavy traffic mess in the area. “She is home quarantined, how is it that she left her home?”

“When she came out, she created a havoc on the street and shouted at every policeman visible on the road, nobody from the Police said a word in retaliation,” the SSP said.

The SSP said that the Police has spoken to the Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla and are planning to take legal action against her.
