No Shutdown Call by Hurriyat Tomorrow

September 03 The Joint resistance leadership has not called for any shutdown tomorrow as is being spread by many whatsapp and Facebook users. Many posts are being spread that JRL has called for a shutdown tomorrow against the killing of a civilian in Pulwama, which are totally fake and baseless. The amalgam has not called issued any shutdown call for tomorrow.

Train Services in South Kashmir suspended

September 03 Following a massive cordon and search operation in Pulwama of South Kashmir, the Railway authorities have suspended train services from Banihal to Srinagar. "Following the volatile situation in South Kashmir areas, the train services have been suspended as a precautionary measure," officials told The Kashmiriyat. Massive clashes have erupted in Pulwama of South Kashmir after Government Forces launched a cordon and search operation in at least 18 villages. One youth has also been killed in the ongoing clashes.

25 Year old Youth From Kupwara Goes Missing

September 03 SHABIR KHAN Mehraj ud din Teeli son of Abdul Majeed Teeli, a resident of Khaipora Bala Tangmarg is missing since 24th of August. The Family of the youth has filed a missing report in the Police station of Tangmarg in North Kashmir. "We have no information of the whereabouts of Mehraj ud din," a family member told The Kashmiriyat. The family staged a massive protest along with residents of other local villages and tried to march towards Tangmarg but the police stopped them from marching towards Tangmarg, The Family appealed the Higher authorities to intervene. Uri Shuts Down in Protest Against the Murder of 9 Year old Girl

September 03  A complete shutdown is being observed today in Boniyar area of Uri against the alleged murder of a minor girl. The protesters hit  roads on  Monday blocking Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road against the death of a minor girl at Larri Trikanjan area of Boniyar. The protestors are demanding identification of culprits behind the killing of minor girl Muskan Jan.  Muskan Jan, a 9 year old girl went missing on August 23, Her decomposed body was spotted on Sunday in the forest area barely a kilometre away from her residence. However civil administration  reached on the spot and restored the traffic on the highway.

For the First time in a Decade, Number of Active Militants crosses 300

September 03 For the first time in a decade, the number of listed militants in Jammu Kashmir has crossed 300. For the past 10 years, the number of active militants hovered around 200 except in 2013 when only 78 militants were active in the Valley — this was the lowest figure since militancy erupted in the state in 1990. The main reason for the high number of militants has been local recruitment since 2017. As per records, 126 Valley youths picked up guns in 2017- which was the highest number since 2010 and this year over 135 have Joined the Militancy so far. The report compiled by the JK Police in early August reveals that 327 militants are active of which 211 are locals and 116 are foreigners. 23 Year Islamabad Youth Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances

September 01 A 23 year old young boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Khwaja Mir Ali area of Cheeni Chowk in South Kashmir's Islamabad township early morning on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Uzair Yousuf Wagay son of Mohammed Yousuf Wagay aged 23 was found lying unconscious on the third storey of his house. The Family upon finding him in an unconscious state rushed him to the hospital, but upon reaching the District hospital in Islamabad (Anantnag), he was declared dead by the doctors.
