July 20 The Indian Government Forces have been trying their possible best to keep youth away from Militancy with verbal pleas, however it does not seem be making any impact on the ground, as more youth continue to enter the Militant ranks, in fact the Militant outfits that had gone invisible have too been attracting educated youth from well to do with exams. Two More South Kashmir Youth Join Militant Ranks

July 19 The report published by the Central Investigation Department recently revealing that funerals and encounter are fuelling Militant recruitment is finding recognition with every passing day as more youth continue to flank Militant ranks after every encounter. Amid these growing encounters two more youth from South Kashmir districts of Shopian and Islamabad (Anantnag) have joined the Militant ranks. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Adil Ahmed Dass son of Abdul Rehman Dass, a resident of Waghama in Bijbehara area in Islamabad (Anantnag) District has joined Militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba. 1 Militant Killed, Gunfight Likely Over

July 19 One Militant has been killed in the brief gunfight that is underway between militants and Government forces in the Batpora  Handwara area of North Kashmir's Kupwara District. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 30 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation. The Encounter had started when Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces who had laid a cordon around Batpora area. As per Sources the gunfire has ended already and now search operations have begun. "Forces are expecting that Militants are hiding in the area, Search Operations are being conducted, the operation is still on," an Official told.

Encounter Starts in Handwara

July 19 An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Batpora area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara District. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 30 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation. Basant Rath Slaps Kashmiri Boy-Video Evokes Sharp Criticism

July 19 A video of The Inspector General of Traffic, Jammu Kashmir Police Basant Rath slapping a local boy in Srinagar's lal chowk area has gone viral over the social networking. In this less than one minute video, clicked from a distance Rath can be seen slapping the youth many times, who people say was a traffic violator. Rath who otherwise is popular in the Srinagar for the steps he has taken for clearing the traffic mess from the Srinagar streets has been criticised for the behavior. Militants Attack Police Patrol Party in Sopore

July 19 SAJAD HAMEED Suspected militants on Thursday attacked a police Patrol party at By pass Sopore in North Kashmir's baramulla district. Police officials told The Kashmiriyat that the militants were bike borne and opened opened fire at Police Naka Party and escaped from the scene. “No one is injured in the incident but the whole area has been cordoned off and search for the assailants has been launched,” a Police said said. Immediately  a Cordon and search operation was launched. The Operation is being jointly conducted by SOG sopore,  22RR, 177,179 CrPF.

Army Officer Pays Emotional Tribute to Pro Freedom Activist who Died in Jail

July 19 How rare is that an officer of the Indian Army would pay a tribute to a Kashmir pro-freedom activist but here is a rare example, following the death of Noor Khan, who joined Militancy in 1989, Brigadier P S Gothra bid an emotional farewell on the Army's Facebook page titled 'Noor Khan is no more and its my personal loss.' Noor Khan, a pro Freedom activist passed away during his time in jail at Kot Bhalwal the last week at the age of 70. July 18 An event was organised by Kashmiri Group of North America (KGNA)- a diaspora group of Kashmiris in North America, to display Kashmiri culture and spirit in America, the function was attended by over 500 Kashmiris. Sopore Woman Succumbs to her Burn Injuries

July 18 A woman from Nowpora Sopore succumbed to her burn injuries in a Srinagar hospital early morning on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the woman identified as Vicky Begum wife of Aalam Bhat, a resident of Nowpora Sopore had suffered severe burns in a gas explosion at her house following which she was shifted to hospital in Srinagar. She succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday, Sources said.

Downtown Posters work of Indian Agents-Says Hizb ul Mujahideen
