Two workers of Jammu Kashmir National Conference were stabbed by unknown assailants during a rally attended by National Conference leaders in Mendhar Poonch district on Sunday. A leader of the Jammu Kashmir National conference said that choas spread after unknown assailants attacked a National Conference rally with a knife, resulting into injuries to at least two persons, one of them critically. Police said that it was a group clash which resulted in injuries to three persons. Pampore residents demand shifting of dumping site from saffron land

The residents of Patal Bagh area of Pampore in South Kashmir's Pulwama district have demanded shifting of dumping site from saffron land so as to save the heritage crop of Kashmir. Young man dies of cardiac arrest in Anantnag

Suhail Dar A young trader died of a cardiac arrest in the Anantnag town of south Kashmir late on Saturday. Family members told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday night, Tanveer Ahmad Zargar, a resident of SK Colony suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital, however, he had succumbed on the way. Hundreds of people from the town participated in his funeral prayers which was held at old Janaza ground in Sherbagh Anantnag. According to studies dating back to 2023, heart attack deaths have increased by 30 per cent in the age group 25 to 44 after COVID 19.

Former Sarpanch shot dead by militants in Shopian area

Two injured after Militants fire upon Jaipur resident, his wife in Pahalgam

Suspected militants fired upon two persons in the Pahalgam area of Anantnag district of south Kashmir. Police in a tweet confirmed that two non locals were injured after being fired upon by militants on Saturday night at the Yaner area of Pahalgam. Retired SP arrested for disclosing ‘sensitive’ information in book

Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, a retired Superintendent of Police, was arrested under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) on Friday night. Aslam was apprehended for allegedly disclosing "some FIRs and sensitive information" in his book. Aslam's law enforcement career began in 1986 as an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI), and he later received out-of-turn promotions to attain the rank of SP. SC overturns acquittal, Allows prosecution in failed 2019 CRPF convoy bombing
