The High court of Jammu Kashmir has reserved the petition seeking the exhumation of the body of Amir Magray, killed in the Hyderpora "encounter" for Thursday. A live grenade was found on Thursday in Central Kashmir Budgam’s Budran Magam area while digging the surface for an electric pole’s installation. Sourced told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that a live grenade was spotted when a portion of land was being dug for the installation of an electric pole. A bomb disposal squad of Budgam police was immediately called in who destroyed the grenade in-situ without causing any damage. In the aftermath, locals said that a tragedy was averted with the immediate action of BDS, who successfully destroyed the grenade. (KDC)

The Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Mohammed Yasin Malik has been convicted by a NIA court in a case related to militancy and secessionist activities in Jammu Kashmir. The Centre has decided to deploy additional security forces in the Kashmir Valley in wake of the recent killing of minorities in Jammu Kashmir, security sources said here. According to the sources, around 15,000 additional para-military force personnel will be deployed soon to tackle the security situation in the Valley and provide better security cover to the people there. Srinagar-Leh Highway was blocked late Wednesday night due to a massive rock slide near Rezan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, where construction work on Z-Morh Tunnel has been going on in full swing.
