An elderly man died after hit by a Sumo in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a speeding Sumo (JK05B-3981)  hit an elderly man in Ganapora area of Kupwara falling in the jurisdiction of police station Kralgund. The victim identified as Muhammad Yousuf Bhat of Ganapora village was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have seized the Sumo, arrested the driver, and registered a case under relevant sections of law. (KNT)

Six children were poisoned allegedly by their uncle in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday evening. The family of the six minor children speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that the six were poisoned by their uncle on Tuesday at their residence in the Gadol area of Kokernag in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir. "He had mixed poison in the water container that the children drink water from. It is all happening over a property dispute," the father of the six alleged. Yasin Malik pleads guilty before Delhi Court: Report

The Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front, Mohammed Yasin Malik has pleaded guilty before Delhi court in a case related to militancy and secessionist activities in Jammu Kashmir, PTI reported. National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India on Tuesday carried out searches at Darul Uloom in Tosh Kalan village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, sources said. They said that sleuths of NIA accompanied by police raided Darul Uloom this afternoon and carried out searches. The raid was in connection with a military operation against militants under the name of “Operation Tosh Kalan” in which two militants were killed by armed forces in the second week of March this year. One militant killed in ongoing encounter in Dooru Anantnag: Police

One Militant has been killed during the ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in the Kreeri, Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday evening. Earlier an official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday 19 RR of the Indian Army, 164 BN of CRPF, and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the Kreeri area. During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said. During the exchange of gunfire, one unidentified militant has been killed and the operation is still going on as more militants are believed to be trapped.

The secessions court in Srinagar adjourned the hearing of former militant Bitta Karate's case after the petitioner did not appear before the court on Monday.
