‘3 terrorists killed in Shopian encounter’: Army

Three militants have been killed during the encounter that started between militants and government forces at Shukroo Keller area of Shopian in south Kashmir. Earlier, official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday morning a cordon and search operation was launched jointly by Indian Army's RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police in Shopian's Kellar area. During the cordon, the militants opened fire upon forces. In the subsequent fire, three militants have been killed, as per officials. More details are emerging.

Teenager dies in road accident at Mattan

A 19-year-old youth lost his life in a tragic road accident in the Hutmurah Mattan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Saqib Muneer Faridi, son of Muneer Ahmad, a resident of Iqbal Abad along KP Road in Anantnag. According to officials, Saqib was riding a scooty when he lost control and rammed into a road divider, sustaining critical injuries. He was initially rushed to Sub-District Hospital Seer Hamdan. From there, doctors referred him to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag. Security forces are engaging suspected drones observed along the International Border in Samba district of Jammu region on Monday, an Army official said.
