September 13 The Government Forces on Thursday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Kangan area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, and SOG of Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Kangan area. September 11 Ram Madhav, National General Secretary, BJP, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today. Madhav discussed with Governor several matters relating to ensuring equitable development in the State and shared his Party’s views about upcoming elections to Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats in the State. September 11 Intense clashes erupted in Handwara and Sopore areas of North Kashmir on Tuesday over the killing of two Local Militants in a gunfight that raged early morning today in Kaloora forests of Handwara in North Kashmir. Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that hundreds of youth took to streets in the North Kashmir areas after the news of the killing of two local Militants spread in the area. Shouting pro Freedom and Pro Militancy slogans, the youth hurled stones on the troops deployed in the area, who fired tear smoke shells on the protesters. Pertinently two Militants killed in the gunfight were identified as Liyaqat Ahmed (27) a resident of Harwan area in Sopore and Furqan aged 18, a resident of Langate area of Handwara in Kupwara District.

September 07 Despite repeated verbal attempts of the Police officials of Jammu Kashmir Police, Militancy is showing no signs of declination. In fact the Army General of India has been constantly asking the local Kashmiri youth to give up arms and asking people to keep their wards away from militancy. Though Militancy is growing swiftly as more local youth are picking up arms to strengthen the Militant ranks, Figures available to The Kashmiriyat suggest that at least 145 youth have picked up arms this year. One more youth from South Kashmir has picked arms and posed with an AK 47 rifle to tell his family that he has joined Militant ranks. September 09 The Government Forces late night on Thursday vandalized the property at the house of Army man turned Militant, Zahoor Ahmed Thoker in Sirnoo area of South Kashmir's Pulwama. The Forces, as reported by The Kashmiriyat, had launched a cordon and search operation in the locality following inputs about Militant movement in the area. Following the Cordon and Search Operation, intense clashes had erupted in the area when hundreds of youth including those from nearby villages rushed to the Sirnoo village and clashes with the forces from 55RR, Jammu Kashmir Police and 183 BN of CRPF. September 06 A government middle school was gutted in a mysterious fire incident in Attina locality of Beerwah area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that fire erupted at around 1130 pm from the school at Attina and engulfed the whole school building. Locals rushed to the spot initially and then a team of Jammu Kashmir Police fire and emergency rushed to the spot and to douse off the flames. The  school building suffered an extensive damage in the massive fire.
