Woman Killed in Hit-And-Run Accident in Anantnag

A 68-year-old woman was killed in a road accident in Brariangan area of Achabal in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday morning. A police official said that Saja Begum, wife of Muhammad Akram Bhat from Brariangan was critically injured after the motorcyclist hit her in the village. She was rushed to SKIMS Soura where the doctors declared her brought dead, the official said, adding that the motorcyclist fled from the spot after the incident. “A case has been registered under FIR number 78/2020 under relevant sections of law and further investigations taken up to crack the case,” he said—(KNO)

Newly Recruited Militant of Lashkar e Taiba Arrested in Dooru

Salman Shah The forces on Thursday claimed to have arrested a fresh recruit of Lashkar-e-Taiba militant outfit in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that during a patrol that was laid by joint team of Army's 19 RR, SOG and CRPF at Shahabad area of Dooru, a newly recruited militant was arrested. The official identified the arrested Militant as Muzammil Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, a resident of Dooru. Muzammil, as per sources had joined the Militant ranks on 27 September, 2020 by posting his picture on social media carrying AK 47. The officer said a case has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.

Youth From Kokernag in South Kashmir Goes Missing

Sheikh Nadeem Yet nother youth has gone missing from theDanwethpora of Kokernag in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. The family of the Youth, Adil Ahmed Malik speaking to The Kashmiriyat has appealed him to return home.  As per family he is missing from August 28. Nazir Ahmad Malik, his father told The Kashmiriyat that he has left behind two brothers ,sister and parents. "He left home for shopian for his work and that was the last time he called his family, since then his mobile phone is switched off till date," his father said. The Jammu Kashmir Police has Registered a missing report.

The Kashmiriyat Impact- Macdamization of Roads in Anantnag Township Started

The roads and buildings department of Jammu Kashmir has started macdamziation of roads that run through the main township of Islamabad (Anantnag) in South Kashmir on Tuesday. The Kashmiriyat had constantly reported the problems the residents face due to the pathetic condition of the roads in the township and also appraised the issue with various officials. On Tuesday morning, officials of the R and B reached the township's area after a gap of more than two years and started the process of macdamization of the roads till Lal Chowk area. Dilapidated link road connecting Reshi Bazar to Shirpura South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district has irked the commuters and the pedestrians as the authorities have failed to macadamize the roads despite assurances. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Mohammad Omar, a local, said that the poor condition of the road is only due to official apathy. The local people are facing a lot of problems and inconvenience. The road has not been macadamized from the past 2 years; it has developed cracks and potholes. The locals are appealing the administration to repair the road and macadamize it so that the people will not suffer anymore. Civilian Injured in Bijbehara Encounter Succumbs

Waris Shah A youth who got injured after an explosive device went off at encounter site in Sirhama area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir's Anantnag district site on Friday has succumbed to his injuries. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that one Mohammed Yaseen Rather who sustained injuries after an unexploded device off at at the encounter site succumbed to his injuries. Mohammed Yaseen Rather son of Mohammad Maqbool Rather was a resident of Sirhama area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Pertinently two militants were killed in an encounter in Sirhama Anantnag on Friday.
